Cheetah E-Ignition ePowered by the MAHLE M40
The Cheetah E‑Ignition showcases what the MAHLE M40 System brings to a modern eMTB when integrated into a dedicated carbon full‑suspension frame. Offered in All‑Mountain (150 mm) and Tourer (130 mm) variants, the model demonstrates how compact system design, smooth power delivery and efficient energy use create a riding experience that feels controlled, natural and capable across varied terrain.
The M40 is engineered as a complete, cohesive system, allowing the Cheetah platform to take full advantage of its compact dimensions, refined sensor interaction and balanced power characteristics.
Smooth and precise assistance on steep and technical sections
The Cheetah E‑Ignition benefits from the M40’s smooth and sensitive support profile. Assistance starts seamlessly, reacts precisely to pedalling input and operates quietly enough that the rider perceives the effect rather than the sound.
On demanding climbs, the motor’s 105 Nm of torque helps maintain traction without the unwanted “after‑push” that can affect control. This predictability is especially useful in tight switchbacks or slow‑speed technical sections, where consistent support helps maintain stability.
Torque, cadence and speed sensors ensure that the assistance adapts instantly to changes in rider effort, giving the bike a composed and intuitive feel.
Carbon frame and compact motor integration
The Cheetah E‑Ignition uses a carbon frame designed around the compact architecture of the MAHLE M40. This integration allows a slim frame silhouette, balanced mass distribution and agile handling on both climbs and descents.
The complete bike remains under 21 kg, even with full‑suspension travel and a complete trail‑ready setup. This low system weight contributes directly to the bike’s manoeuvrability and responsiveness.
Stable output and efficient battery usage
The MAHLE M40 delivers 250 W nominal power, up to 850 W peak output, a 48 V system architecture and a motor weight of 2.5 kg.
Its thermal performance is a key strength: the system maintains stable assistance even on long climbs, avoiding power reduction due to heat.
The Cheetah E‑Ignition offers 534 Wh and 800 Wh battery options. Both are developed to provide strong autonomy without compromising overall weight balance. The M40’s efficient use of every watt‑hour reinforces this balance, particularly in higher assist levels.
