Every year, the legendary Nürburgring transforms from a motorsport venue into one of Europe’s most iconic cycling destinations. For a full weekend, thousands of riders gather at Rad am Ring to take on one of the most demanding and inspiring challenges in cycling, riding day and night on the same asphalt that has shaped motorsport history for decades. Since its creation in 2003, the event has become one of the largest cycling festivals in Germany, bringing together professional athletes, amateurs, teams and cycling enthusiasts from across Europe.
For MAHLE SmartBike Systems, Rad am Ring represented much more than a cycling event. Nürburgring is part of MAHLE’s automotive DNA, making it the perfect stage to celebrate the connection between our motorsport heritage and our commitment to innovation in cycling.
Throughout the weekend, our team was present both on and off the track, competing in the event while welcoming visitors to the MAHLE SmartBike Systems booth.
From automotive heritage to cycling performance: Beitske Visser
This connection between motorsport and cycling was further strengthened by the presence of Beitske Visser, professional racing driver and long-time ambassador of MAHLE SmartBike Systems.
Having built her career on some of the world’s most demanding racing circuits, Beitske embodies the same mindset required to succeed at Rad am Ring: focus, resilience and the relentless pursuit of performance.
At Nürburgring, she joined the MAHLE SmartBike Systems team to experience the event from a cycling perspective, engaging with participants and visitors while highlighting the natural relationship between automotive engineering and modern cycling technology.
Her presence reinforced a clear message: whether on four wheels or two, performance is driven by passion, preparation and innovation.
Riding with Ridley
A key part of the weekend was our partnership with Ridley, one of Europe’s most respected bicycle brands.
Together, we shared the excitement of Rad am Ring with riders who appreciate performance-focused products designed to enhance every ride. The combination of premium bicycle design and advanced technology created the perfect environment to engage with cyclists looking for new experiences, new challenges and new ways to enjoy riding.
The collaboration reflected a shared commitment to innovation, performance and rider-focused solutions.
Welcoming Smith and Koroyd
The event also provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships with valued partners Smith and Koroyd.
Their expertise in rider protection, helmet technology and safety innovation perfectly complemented the spirit of the event. As riders tackled one of the most demanding cycling courses in Europe, conversations around performance, comfort and safety naturally became an important part of the weekend.

While the race delivered excitement on the track, the MAHLE SmartBike Systems booth became a popular meeting point for visitors throughout the weekend.
Attendees had the opportunity to discover our lightweight and seamlessly integrated eBike systems, learn more about the technology behind the MAHLE riding experience and participate in test rides.
Experiencing the systems first-hand allowed riders to understand how electric assistance can complement their cycling experience while maintaining the natural ride feel that defines MAHLE SmartBike Systems.
The combination of endurance racing, product demonstrations and direct conversations with riders created valuable opportunities to connect with the cycling community and gather feedback from passionate cyclists.
