Origine has unveiled the new Newton[e], a model that redefines the ultralight e‑road segment with a total weight of 9.83 kg in size M. Designed from the ground up, the project focuses on delivering a natural riding experience with support only when the rider needs it. At its core lies the fully integrated MAHLE X20 System, ensuring efficient assistance and a clean design.
A fully new frame engineered for performance
The Newton[e] is not derived from an existing platform. Origine has created a dedicated carbon frame specifically engineered to manage the mechanical demands of an e‑road configuration without compromising stiffness, comfort or responsiveness. Weighing 980 g, the frame uses high‑modulus fibres and a refined layup tailored to withstand the forces generated by the motor.
The frame also integrates UDH compatibility, ensuring modern drivetrain adaptability and alignment with current industry standards.
Sub‑10 kg with real climbing power
he MAHLE X20 System delivers 65 Nm of torque and a peak power of 275 W, all while maintaining a natural ride feel thanks to its discreet 1.39 kg hub‑based architecture. The system supports UDH, providing broad compatibility with the latest transmission technologies.
The bike is equipped with Prymahl C31 Pro wheels, enhancing stability and efficiency on steep terrain and fast descents.
Real‑world autonomy
A 250 Wh internal battery offers up to 100 km of mixed‑use autonomy. For longer rides, the optional External Battery increases total capacity to 435 Wh, extending the range to 160 km. Recharging to 80% takes less than two hours..
Assistance that adapts to the rider
The X20 System uses combined sensors for cadence, torque and speed to deliver progressive and precise support. Above 25 km/h, the motor disengages completely so riders keep the natural feel of a conventional road bike. ANT+ compatibility and My SmartBike app integration allow automatic assistance modulation based on effort, gradient or heart rate.
Ready for road, gravel and adventure
The Newton[e] range includes a road‑focused model and the Newton[e] GR, designed for tyres up to 45 mm. As with all Origine bikes, the model is fully configurable online: colours, components, wheels, cockpit configuration and geometry adjustments. A 3D configurator allows riders to visualise changes in real time.
