Decathlon ROCKRIDER EXPL 900 Kids MTB with X30 System
The ROCKRIDER EXPL 900 Kids MTB (26”) is designed for riders aged 9–12 who want to explore trails with confidence and control. Its lightweight build and smart electric support make it a solid choice for young cyclists developing their skills off-road.
Lightweight Power for Young Riders
With a total weight of just 16 kg, the EXPL 900 combines agility and performance through a carefully selected component set. At its core, the MAHLE X30 motor delivers 45 Nm of torque, offering smooth, proportional assistance that adapts naturally to the rider’s effort.
The 236 Wh integrated battery provides up to 90 km of range, and can be extended by 60 km with the optional eX1 external battery. Integration into the downtube keeps the bike clean and easy to maintain.
Geometry Designed for Growth
Developed in collaboration with Sportslab, the frame geometry is based on child-specific morphology data. This ensures a comfortable and stable riding position, helping young riders feel in control across varied terrain.
Tested by Real Riders
System calibration was informed by field testing in Passy (France), where children of different skill levels provided feedback on motor response and ride feel. This input helped fine-tune the assistance to be intuitive and supportive, without overwhelming the rider.
The EXPL 900 Kids MTB shows how electric assistance can support young riders in building confidence, exploring further and enjoying every ride, with a system that’s lightweight, integrated and responsive.
