MAHLE XS System Wins iF DESIGN AWARD 2025
The MAHLE XS System has been honoured with the prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2025 – a global accolade that recognises exceptional design excellence. With nearly 11,000 entries from 66 countries and a rigorous evaluation process led by 131 international jurors, this award underscores the outstanding quality and innovative spirit behind our XS System.

A Global Challenge in Design
Since its inception in 1953, the iF DESIGN AWARD has symbolised superior design worldwide. This year’s competition, held over three intensive days in Hamburg, attracted entries from designers, architects, and companies around the globe. The judging panel applied strict criteria – including task fulfilment, relevance, fit for purpose, emotional appeal, execution, aesthetics, usability, efficiency, user benefit, innovation, brand differentiation, social benefit, and sustainability – to select the most remarkable designs.
Redefining eBike Simplicity and Sustainability
The MAHLE XS System sets a new benchmark in ebike design. By featuring the ultra-light eX1 External Battery, it dispenses with the need for an internal battery, making electrification possible for bike models that were previously confined to traditional designs. This innovative approach results in:
• Exceptional Performance: An impressive power‐to‐weight ratio coupled with minimalist components ensures efficiency and ease of maintenance.
• Sustainable Engineering: The design is eco‑friendly, contributing to a lower environmental impact while maintaining high performance.
• Versatile Integration: Compatible with MAHLE’s X20 and X30 motors, the XS System delivers robust performance without compromising on style or weight.
• Customisation: Ideal for urban and leisure bikes, it offers endless options for customisation and seamless integration into diverse cycling platforms.

Celebrating a Milestone in Micromobility
This award is a clear validation of the innovation and thoughtfulness that drive the MAHLE XS System. It not only differentiates our product in a competitive market but also highlights the social relevance and future potential of sustainable design in micromobility. As we look forward to the glamorous iF Design Award Night at the Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin on 28 April 2025, we remain committed to pioneering solutions that meet the evolving needs of cyclists around the world.
