1.1.1 Before first use

For proper operation, ensure that the eBike system is fully connected and correctly assembled. Before first use, fully charge the battery using the active charger. For additional information on how to charge your eBike, refer to the relevant section of the manual. Also, before starting to ride, make sure that the active charger of your eBike is disconnected. Never use the eBike during the charging process.

1.1.2 Intended use

The intended use of our product is to assist pedaling of an EPAC (Electrically Power Assisted Cycles) and not for any other eBike application. Our product is designed in accordance with regulatory requirements for EPAC systems and for certain environmental conditions in which such systems may be used, such as rain, saline areas, mud, etc.

1.1.3 Prohibited use

It is not permitted to:

• Integrate our system into a non-compatible EPAC that has not been certified according to EN 15494 or into a bicycle not prepared for such use.

• Manipulate legal parameters (speed or power).

• Repair the battery or reuse it for any other system or EPAC.

• Manipulate or change the software and firmware designed and approved by MAHLE.

• Add electronic elements that modify the maximum assistance speed.

If MAHLE standards are compromised by non-compliance, MAHLE assumes no legal responsibility for personal or material damages.

The MAHLE system reserves the right to include functions that may analyze and record any abnormal behavior caused by system manipulation, such as excessive maximum speed or abnormal data communication. Any manipulation will immediately void all MAHLE warranty terms.

Manipulating legal parameters (speed or power), repairing the battery or reusing it for another system or EPAC constitutes not only a violation of MAHLE rules but also of current legislation, as does tampering with our components, changing the software and firmware designed and approved by MAHLE, or adding electronic elements that modify the maximum assistance speed.

It is strictly prohibited to integrate our system into a bicycle, even if compatible, that does not have CE marking. MAHLE assumes no legal responsibility for personal or material damages or for any circumstance that may occur in a bicycle without CE marking.
