MAHLE X20 wins the EUROBIKE Innovators Prize 2022
X20 System: Recognized as the most innovative component for eBikes
Our X20 System, recently launched to the market, has been recognized as the most innovative component solution in the latest edition of the EUROBIKE Innovators Prize.
This recognized the X20 as powerful and seamlessly integrated, and perfect for demanding bike applications.
Innovators Prize
On 14 July 2022, the EUROBIKE Innovators Prize recognised the most innovative products, services and ideas from the bicycle industry in the new Frankfurt location for this international bicycle trade fair.
These totally renewed awards are one of the world’s prestigious and influencial recognitions in the industry, with a focus on the projects whose contribution goes beyond the bike. “They contribute to a better cycling world and to society in general,” explains Stefan Reisinger, Fairnamic Managing Director.
The Eurobike Innovators Prize consists of five categories: vehicles, components, equipment, services and infrastructure ideas that span a diverse range of technologies to rethink sustainable mobility solutions.
After the online voting from the broad Eurobike public and the opinion of a top-class jury of experts, MAHLE SmartBike Systems has been honoured with the award in the most innovative component category for our X20 System.
As a result, our participation as exhibitor, together with the prize, have been a showcase for our revolutionary X20 System, constituting yet another starting signal for successfully positioning our drive system in the avantgarde of innovations for SmartBikes.
X20: A winning drive system
The X20 System is the new industry benchmark for the power to weight ratio of eBike drives. Weighing just 3.2 kilograms, this system, which is the lightest in the market, allows for a total bike weight of less than 10 kg.
Equipped with a compact drive unit, a smart and minimalistic Head Unit, a torque and cadence sensor to assist you when and how you need it and the fully integrated battery allowing to keep the aesthetic and design of the bike. These are just a few examples of the disruptive drive system components recognized with this award.
The X20 System allows the rider to reach high speeds, even with a low cadence. Furthermore, the hub drive is an alternative to maintain the mid front derailleur. All this makes the X20 system the perfect solution for sporty premium Gravel and Road applications.
The Eurobike Innovators Prize has therefore wished to recognise the X20 system with this award for its versatility in all segments as an innovative solution for SmartBikes.
